Did I? (Sell the dream)

Yes I know, that we way we lived will break us apart
And I know, that we can’t pretend to be something else than what we are
I have to go, even though it is so damn hard
Simply because even though you’re my sunshine I need you as my guiding star

Did I tell you, that I love you
The way that you make me feel?
Did I sell the dream to you
Of us forming a somethingship that’s real?

Yes, we were living life largely with a ‘fuck it’ attitude, no biggies
Passing through small warm hearted towns controlled by big cold cities
We’d walk down the road together reaching the top of the bottom, down the drain
Yes, I know that we could have stayed the same and never change

Did I tell you, that I love you
The way that you make me feel?
Did I sell the dream to you
Of us forming a somethingship that’s real?

Yes I know, our life stories are cut sharp, like walking on broken glass
And our bond is trying to cross the border at an open pass
Yes, I know we’re following a sinner’s path, but oh what a glorious way
through bed we could heed with an angels peace, pace and face, and on a warriors day...

I would tell you, that I love you
and love the way that you make me feel
I want to sell the dream of us to you
Because our relationship is for real

Honey let me tell you, that I love you
And I love the way you make life feel
I love the way of everything you do
Because our relationship is for real
