Think Of

Think of everything that can go wrong
Think of all the people aint getting along
Think of the things you've done
And of all the calls when you didn't come
Think of what could've been a happy home
Of that baby girl you left on her own
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of that police standing in the rain
It's your fault, but you've already got someone else to blame
Think of that woman raising her fist
And of her daughter, whom you never miss
Think of who you've become
Think of the fears you never dare to confront
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of the moon and the sun
Think of the handicapped dreaming of being able to run
Think of Americanized dreams of money and fame
While people in Africa's working for small change
Think of all the superstars living in great wealth
And realize you could've been one yourself
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of all the problems and all the issues
Of the day you'll die and all the people that hopefully'll miss you
Think of all the time you've been lying to yourself
Think of all the people offering you their kind help
God damn it, think of God and all the religions
Think of all the hidden agendas, stories made up of fiction
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of all the animals and the nature
Of Noah's Arch, and our modern day saviour
Think of the chains, think of all boundaries
Think of all dreams, lost to old memories
and all the people wanting to praise you
Of all people accepting you as you were, without wanting to change you
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of all the people you're calling friends
Think of how it all began, and the day it'll end
Of your childhood, in the sandbox holding hands
Think of the beach, your first kiss in the sand
Think of your parents, think of your mother and father
All the times they cheered when you played hockey and pushed even harder
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think, what if you finally came to a point where you realize
Your actions make a difference to someone else's life
Think of all the good things, and all the small things
That matter so much to someone and what they bring
Think of all the partners you've hurt after sex
Of all the promises to come home, but you just left
Think of all your sisters and brothers
And the river made of tears you're causing others

Think of all the dreams you once had
of all decisions you once took that made someone else sad
Think of everything you could've achieved
If it wasn't for white lies, lack of self esteem and belief
Think of all the stuff you've left on your shelf resting
Your life's never to take for granted, it's a blessing
Think of all thoughts you've ever had
But never think of the things you never did or asked...
